Las Dunas

Hola!

So it has been awhile since I have written on this. I am loving Chile more and more everyday. These first 3 weeks have went by so fast. Next week I will be done with my February classes and will be going to Santiago for the week! The weather here is wonderful and it is always sunny outside (no humidity). I spend my days during the week going to class until 2 then in the afternoons I usually go to the beach or walk around Vina with my friends. I haven't gotten the opportunity yet to travel outside of the Valparaiso Region because a weekend is not enough time but hopefully in the semester I will be able too. So that is all that I have been doing so far school, meeting Chileans, and embracing the Chilean Culture. So far this study abroad trip seems more like a long vacation than anything else!

On Tuesday we went to the sand dunes in Renaca with some of our Chilean friends from the University. It was absolutely beautiful, on one side of the dunes was the ocean and the other the mountains!

This Country is truly wonderful and there is so much that makes it so unique. I love the food, music, people, and language more and more everyday. Oh side note... they eat there hotdogs with avocado and tomatoes and it is the most delicious thing in the world everyone needs to try it.

Wow okay sorry this post is super random and unorganized which shouldn't be a suprise because thats just how I am but anyway last weekend we went to a concert on the beach. I didn't take my camera so I don't have pictures and I'm so mad I didn't but here are some of the Chilean artists just to get a feel of the music here.

Ok Que esta todo para ahora!

LA PLAYA!
So I finished my first week of school at the catolica, which was really only 2 days. I am still trying to learn  way around the public transportation. It's taking some adjusting but the people are so friendly and I am always asking for help "Advisame porfavor". Yesterday and then most of the day today I went to a beach about twenty minutes away called "CONCON". This beach is so beautiful and doesn't have near as many people as the one right next to my home. Here are some pictures of CONCON.

Also this week right next to la playa CONCON is the world tour ATP, mens tennis. Which is pretty cool since it is right in my town. Also right next to the beach is the "Chilean Armada y Naval" and yesterday I got to watch the Navy doing drills in the water with the helicopter.
I want to take more pictures here but most places I can't take my camera because it will get stolen. Also anyone that is reading this blog and wants to contact me you can skype me my skype name is Kaitlyn Kurtz, real simple.
For Now
Chao!

Hola!
Today was my first official day of classes in the University which is called "La Catolica". For the month of February I am taking two classes, Grammar and Chilean Culture. My classes were went really well and so far my professors are great. Here is a picture of inside the university in the patio.
Yesterday we got a tour of Valparaiso which is the city where the university is located. This city is absolutely beautiful with lots of color and hills on hills. We also got to take a boat tour of the port. Here are some pictures of that.
There is a lot of art and graffiti in the streets

I know pictures without people in them isnt that interesting I'll try and get more in the future.
